Dr. Biqin Dong received his B.S. degree in Physics in 2006 and his Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics in 2011 from Fudan University, Shanghai, China. From 2012 to 2018, he was a joint Postdoctoral Fellow in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and the Departments of Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, USA. From 2018 to 2019, he was a staff optical engineer at Bruker Nano Surfaces, USA. He has published 2 book chapters and more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, including those in Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, and Optica. His research has been featured on the cover of Advanced Materials, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, and Journal of Applied Physics. His 2016 publication in PNAS received the Cozzarelli Prize for outstanding scientific excellence and originality. He has also been awarded the 2016 Best Paper Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and 2017 PicoQuant Young Investigator Award from SPIE.
Dr. Li graduated with a Ph.D. from the Department of Electronic Engineering at the University of Liverpool in 2020. His research focused on near-infrared imaging, particularly the application of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) in ophthalmic diagnostics. He later worked in the Engineering Department at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, where he dedicated his efforts to applying OCT and terahertz imaging in the pharmaceutical field. In 2022, he joined the lab as a postdoctoral researcher, continuing his research on the application of optical imaging in areas such as skin and ophthalmology.
